i agree to the statement. Education is now considered as a buisness more than serving knowledge to the students. if we talk about secondary education, we see a healthy competition between different boards eg. CBSE or ICSE boards, their main focus is on to have more number of students passed with high grades and therefore they are reducing the tough subjects from their syllabus. next after schooling as students are concentrating more on engg. colleges as it is the fastest growing and most favourable field in India, a large no. of engg. colleges are opened with good infrastructure but with huge fees, their main motive is to earn profit. we can see many advertisements in TV, Newspapers, Radio and even coaching institutes they are tempting students to come into their institute by providing experienced faculties.

Yes, It's true but it has been happening from a long time.
I could simply say it the sin has to be laid on A.I.C.T.E and our
education system which is haphazard.

its true,i should agree with this statement.as the economy is growing it should like that not only the education all the stream is been converted to business. But the main negative think is that the poor people will suffer from this.

yes..i think that today education is more a business.because fee structure is almost every college is so high that a middle class person's annual income will not be sufficient.earlier higher fee was limited upto private colleges..but if we see the IIM's fees then,it can be concluded that govt. colleges are not behind..nowadays there is such a high competion in every field,,on top of that such high fees; education is very difficult to be completed..institutions prefers more profit n earnings over the knowledge to b provided.

Nandini, your opinion may be right. But as the Education industry is prospering, many businessmen have invested in Institutions for its good prospects.
Subsequently, this has increased the number of educational centres thereby creating room for even those candidates who could not make to the respective premium institutes for various reasons.

i would like to add one more thing in to it that govt is inviting private sector to invest their money in education field and the main motive of private player is to get return on their investment or to generate profit hence now a days education field is turned in to a means of money generator or it has been commercialised

Yes I agree with the above statement as more and more private investors are investing in the Education system imparting knowledge of high standards at higher price. The spending capacity of most of the average Indians has increased in the recent past. Moreover education loans are easily available now a days.Hence above average grade of Indians are willing to spend high price for Education.
However this has adversely affected the poor population of India who are unable to pay such high price for education.

I think u r correct. but look at the standards of engineering colleges these days. today there are more engineering colleges than PCO booths. Each promising great learning and career. whats d result? we r having more number of highly qualified unemployed or underemployed graduates. thats really frustrating. what i hope our education system should stick to the basics and a lot of employment producing courses should be introduced.

yes i too agree that education ha become more like buisness and its directly affecting the poor but its just a start what we know wher future will take it too...n i think govt is providing students with scholarship n reserving seats for backward classes so they must kown how to take benefits out of that..they cant just sit back n tell that its expensive...future will be more dangerous

there are some very strong opinions about the topic and i appreciate that completely.I believe that there are always two sides to a coin, similarly over here.It is just coz of the commercialisation of the education industry that today we INDIANS are inculcated with the requisite skills and competencies to stand against anyone in this world and challenge anyone in comparison to our speaking skills, with we having the capability to speak any second language most fluently than any other country's workforce, with our institutes being ranked among the top universities and colleges like the IIT's,SRCC,IIM's,etc. Its the commercialisation that is needed to reach the nukes and corners of this vast country and with the limitations of the govt.that was not possible. With the increase in the fees by the institutes we should not forget that the the packages from these institutes have increased exponentially, for the poor these private and govt institutes have certain scholarship schemes which can be availed by anyone by fulfilling certain criteria's.In the end i would say that what matters is our contribution in this area if each of us could take the responsibility of educating atleast one poor student the long term objective would be achieved easily and constructively.

hii frnds!!! the topic is very intresting...
Due to the new technologies and globalisation the education standards are increasing day by day...as the standards are increased the price will also increase and also the cost of the text books are also been increasing.. but some are concentrating only for money and so the schools and collages are increasing day by day and the fee also going to peaks...
the parents are also showing intrest on those collages and schools where the facilities are moree...even they are paying high prices for their kids comfort and luxury...but not on the children and their studies..
An intrested student can study in government institutionss...even the students who cant effort for higher studies can work hard and get scholarships and stypund in the universities.. even the banks are providng loans for the students who really work hard...
so even the education is becoming more comercialised the talented student can make their dreams to come true...
so i would like to conclude that we should not look for oppurtunities and chances we have to go for chances and grab them...and a DIAMOND is DIAMOND every wheree...........

yes i m completely agreed with others opinions.that said education became business
.now days.education becomes a business..people invest their money on the school or college more then other business...u can see a school or college after a turn....and also people shows great interest in take admission in those school that has higher fees...good structure..and also that gives good facilities for their kids......but i want to add one more point higher companies also takes employee from that college that has good reputation...so to get a job in higher company u will have to do study in that college that has higher fees structure. thats why people look for that college or school that gives good facilities..if a college provides good facilities then its fees automatically become high.

yes my friends, but indai is a 2nd largest populated country. so to educate everyone we need to have educational institution every nook and corner of the india.but govrment institution are not sufficent to provide the education. that is the reason why the private institutions are growing. but they investing money in educational to earn high profit that killing the poor people.education become as costly as gold. so govtmnt should hav control on this matter so that education ll be favourable to every standard of people of india
